From 15 October onwards the Covid Safe Ticket is obligatory.

What is a Covid Safe Ticket (CST) ?

The CST is a variant of the European Covid certificate, intended for travel abroad. The same certificate is now required to gain access to certain events or places in the Brussels Capital Region.

The CST checks whether the citizen is in possession of one of the following certificates:

• a vaccination certificate proving that you have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognised by the European Union. A vaccination certificate is only valid from the 14th day after the last injection;

• A test certificate as proof of a negative PCR test (not older than 48 hours) or an antigen test (rapid test, not older than 24 hours). Antigen tests must be carried out by a legally authorised person. Events may offer these tests at the entrance but are not obliged to do so;

• A recovery certificate not older than 180 days.

For whom is a CST compulsory ?

CST is compulsory from the age of 16, unless the participants are part of a school group, in all sectors and at all events concerned. Please note that for mass events (such as concerts at Palais 12 or La Madeleine), the CST will be required from the age of 12.

Persons not subject to CST (see above) must wear a mouth mask (from the age of 12) in the sectors and during the events concerned.

How long will a CST be applied ?

The CST will be implemented for 3 months, until 15 January 2022. The epidemiological situation will be evaluated on a monthly basis in order to consider a possible suspension of CST. In addition, the CST may be extended if the epidemiological situation so requires.
