Low Emission Zone (LEZ)
The Brussels-Capital Region has been subject to Low Emission Zone (LEZ) regulations since January 1, 2018. This scheme applies to the 19 communes of Brussels, including access to the Brussels Expo Palaces. The most polluting vehicles, notably diesel and gasoline vehicles not meeting Euro 6 standards, are gradually banned from circulation. The aim of this zone is to limit pollutant emissions and improve air quality.
Visitors to the Brussels Expo halls must ensure that their vehicles comply with LEZ criteria. Those who do not meet the conditions can use alternatives such as public transport or park in the transit parking lots on the outskirts of Brussels. It is also possible to purchase a day pass for traffic limited to eight days a year.
For more details on vehicle compliance and mobility alternatives, visit the official LEZBrussels website.
