As 2020 marks the tenth anniversary of The Light's formation and the fortieth anniversary of Joy Division's demise, Peter Hook & The Light have planned a series of concerts during which they will perform the albums 'Unknown Pleasures' and 'Closer' in their entirety. They will be at La Madeleine in Brussels on 26 September 2022 for one of these exclusive concerts celebrating Joy Division's legacy.
Peter Hook & The Light made their debut in May 2010, revisiting Joy Division's cult album 'Unknown Pleasures' at a charity concert in tribute to the band. Since then, they have performed new albums from the repertoire of Hook's former bands, New Order and Joy Division, live every year. Peter Hook & The Light have now covered each of these two bands' albums and have just completed a world tour devoted to the 'Substance' compilations released by Factory Records.
Before that, Hook, who is very attached to his old recordings, covered 'Closer', 'Still', 'Mouvement', 'Power Corruption & Lies', 'Low Life' and 'Brotherhood'. In the 8 years since their first concert, Peter Hook and The Light have toured extensively and have played over 500 concerts.
The Light have made it their mission to bring Hook's old repertoire to a new audience at concerts and festivals. They have already headlined Bestival, Primavera Sound, Benicassim, 1234 and other festivals in Europe and around the world. The band has also toured Europe, North and South America, China, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. All of these concerts have received rave reviews and have delighted their many fans.
